Today (October 11), the Avatr T09 concept version made its global debut in Paris, officially revealing its interior to the public for the first time. As the opening work of Avatr's flagship series, this car is positioned in the 500,000-yuan-class flagship luxury SUV market and will go on sale within this year.
With Changan + Huawei + CATL joining forces, is the Avatr T09 merely trying to be "yet another large six-seater"? In fact, what is most worth watching about this car is that Avatr finally no longer tells its story only with "avant-garde," but has begun to seriously talk about "reverence."
In the past, when people mentioned Avatr, the first thing that came to mind was the Avatr 11, then the Avatr 12—fastback, sharp, like something driven straight out of a concept film. Good-looking, but leaning "trendy." But once you want to sell in the 500,000-yuan class and compete with the AITO M9, Li Auto L9, and Zeekr 9X for large six-seater users, being trendy alone is not enough. What users want is "I feel respected when I get in the car." The Avatr T09 is a pioneer trying to blaze a new path!
This time, the Avatr T09's front face is no longer simply aggressive lines. Instead, it uses 362 three-dimensional logo elements of varying heights to create a relief grille, crystal diamond headlamp units with double-layer diamond cutting, and a 2.1-meter clamshell front hood that, once closed, upgrades the aura from "I'm cool" to "I'm cool and steady." The side's blade-like waistline, D-pillar aluminum trim, and crystal door handles are all aimed at the traditional luxury car idea of "looking imposing from afar and showing craftsmanship up close."
But I think the smartest point of the Avatr T09 is still the Vortex emotional swirl in the interior. That's right, this excellent design has been carried forward and has made it onto the flagship SUV! Luxurious enough!
Many cars nowadays do luxury as "the bigger the screen, the better, and the more convoluted the material names, the more premium." Avatr did not just do that. It placed a retractable vortex mechanism in the center console, a 360° reverse curved surface with 118 RGB LEDs inside, able to link with the whole vehicle's ambient lighting: welcome, music rhythm, rear approaching vehicle alerts—none of it is for show, but to give the car "a bit of perceptiveness." Combined with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster + dual 17.2-inch large screens in an integrated triple-screen setup, NFC one-touch connection, the cockpit logic is not "what have I stacked up," but "have you been taken care of in this car." This is the difference between it and ordinary spec-stacking flagships: emotional new luxury is not a slogan, but turning lighting, lifting, silent motors, anti-pinch, and these small things into a set of interactions that respond to people.
Of course, Avatr has not skimped on hard goods either: Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving, HarmonyOS cockpit, Taihang intelligent control, 2.0T + three motors with over a thousand horsepower, 71.24kWh CATL Xiaoyao super range-extended hybrid battery, CLTC pure electric range over 400km. These are strong enough in the 500,000-yuan class, but to be honest, this price range does not lack "parameter kings" now. AITO has the Huawei ecosystem, Li Auto has family scenarios, Zeekr has performance and stacked hardware. If the Avatr T09 wants to hold its ground, relying on "I have it too" is clearly not enough—it has to be "I am simply myself"!
Whether the Avatr T09 is the main volume-driving model for Avatr or the brick used to raise the brand ceiling needs the market to give us the answer. Its global debut in Paris is not simply showing the car, but telling the world in advance—Chinese new energy is not only cheap, intelligent, and spec-competitive, it can also tell stories of original aesthetics and "new luxury."
But don't get carried away. A stunning concept version does not mean the production version will not be watered down. Whether the Vortex can retain the complete mechanism in production, whether the burgundy interior and real wood/crystal texture will be cut by cost, how the thousand-horsepower hybrid's fuel consumption when out of charge and sound insulation will be handled, whether 500,000-yuan-class users will buy "Avatr's reverence"... these are the real tests after the new car goes on sale.
By the way, the Avatr T09 will also appear alongside star models such as the Avatr 06T and Avatr 07L at the Paris Auto Show held from October 12 to 18, showcasing the systematic achievements of Chinese automobiles in original design and intelligent technology on the global stage. Behind the expansion of its overseas map is a continuously iterating product matrix: Avatr has now launched multiple models including the Avatr 11, Avatr 12, Avatr 06/06T, and Avatr 07/07L. Among them, the Avatr 06T and 07L will be the first batch of core products to land first in Norway and Spain.
