On July 9, the NIO ES8 five-seat version was officially launched, offering two models: the Executive Luxury Edition and the Executive Signature Edition.

The five-seat version has the same body dimensions as the six-seat and seven-seat versions, with length, width and height of 5,280 mm, 2,010 mm and 1,800 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The front fascia features a combination of double-layer crystal diamond daytime running lights and HDPL headlights, and it has a 230L front trunk. The rear of the vehicle is equipped with a super-red full-width light strip taillight.

In terms of interior, the five-seat version adopts a wraparound cockpit, equipped with a 48-inch Skyline digital horizon display, a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 38-inch AR-HUD, a 21.4-inch rear sky screen and an 8-inch rear control screen. It is equipped with the NIO Tianqin 8.1.4.2 immersive sound system with 27 speakers.

The front row is equipped with dual aviation zero-gravity seats, and the seat backrests can recline flat up to 180°. The second-row reclining seats are equipped with power footrests, with a maximum backrest angle of 138 degrees. All seats in the vehicle have heating, ventilation and massage functions. In addition, the new car is also equipped with rear seatback tables, smart dimming privacy windows with a total area of 1.7 ㎡, and an 8.8-liter full-domain temperature-controlled onboard refrigerator.

After removing the third-row seats, the five-seat version's standard trunk volume reaches 1,334 liters, and it also has 268 liters of hidden space. It is also equipped with a three-fold privacy partition board and a wraparound divider integrated with the second-row cabin, which can separate the passenger area from the storage area.

The five-seat version is equipped with the SkyOS · Tianshu vehicle system, featuring the Shenji NX9031 chip and 31 perception hardware components including lidar. Together with the NIO World Model NWM, it supports point-to-point full-domain navigation assist and intelligent parking assist.

The five-seat version is built on a full-domain 900V high-voltage architecture and a dual-motor intelligent all-wheel-drive system, and comes standard with a 102 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC range of 655 kilometers. The new car features the NIO Shenxing Smart Enjoy chassis, equipped with dual-chamber air suspension and single-valve external CDC dampers.

Xiao Tang's view: The NIO ES8 five-seat version is a new layout model launched after the six-seat and seven-seat versions of the series. The core change is the removal of the third-row seats, redistributing space to the second row and the trunk. At the same time, the official brand offers a series of original expansion accessories, such as mattresses, coolers, coat racks and bicycle racks, covering outdoor scenarios such as camping, photography and lure fishing. Overall, this car is more suitable for people who do not have a rigid need for third-row seats but value rear-row space and trunk loading capacity, and who frequently undertake long-distance self-driving trips or outdoor activities.
