There are many extended-range powertrain models, but those that can obtain authoritative certification are few and far between. Recently, the "Gold Extended-Range" powertrain system equipped in the all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD passed the "Premium Drive High-Quality Extended-Range" technical verification by the CATARC New Energy Vehicle Inspection Center, becoming the industry's first extended-range powertrain system to obtain this national-level certification.

The all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD, originally built with the three leading advantages of "Gold Extended-Range," "Snow Leopard AWD," and "Falcon Intelligent Driving," along with seven segment-leading configurations, has seen its "gold content" surge even further.



Rigorous Evaluation Across Five Major Dimensions


The CATARC "Premium Drive High-Quality Extended-Range" evaluation is an important certification that conducts comprehensive testing and assessment of extended-range powertrain systems. Based on typical application scenarios, this evaluation system assesses the system across a total of five major dimensions: "power performance, energy efficiency performance, power safety, electromagnetic safety, and noise quality," providing an all-around evaluation of the extended-range powertrain system through objective and fair testing methods.

Among these five evaluation dimensions, achieving "Premium Drive High-Quality Extended-Range" also requires meeting five major standards: "power performance" must deliver 90% peak power output across the full speed range; "energy efficiency performance" requires the drive motor system efficiency to be no less than 85%, and the range extender system to achieve the highest oil-to-electricity conversion rate; "power safety" requires passing power failure scenario test verification; "electromagnetic safety" requires near-field low-frequency radiation values to be below twice the standard limit, and far-field high-frequency radiation values to be below the standard limit; "noise level" requires A-weighted sound pressure level and objective sound quality parameter statistical results under steady-state and idle conditions to be no higher than the A-weighted sound pressure level limits.

Since the evaluation standards are highly technical, they may not be easy to understand. Simply put, "to obtain this certification, meeting all five criteria is the minimum requirement," which shows how professional and rigorous the certification is.



Or to put it another way, these five evaluation dimensions can also be understood as: a certified extended-range powertrain must not only maintain high power output at all times, be fuel-efficient and electricity-efficient, and resist failure, but also be quiet enough, and not make owners worry about health issues such as "hair loss" caused by electromagnetic radiation.

Not All Extended-Range Systems Are "Gold"


The first model (and apparently currently the only one) to obtain this certification — the all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD — has, since its launch, ranked first among its famous "three core hardcore technologies": the "Gold Extended-Range System."



At least for now, everyone should believe that not all extended-range powertrains can be called "Gold Extended-Range." The all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD is equipped with the industry's mass-production highest 44.5% thermal efficiency extended-range dedicated engine, with an oil-to-electricity conversion rate reaching the industry's best — 1 liter of gasoline can generate 3.7 kWh of electricity. With a 3-meter wheelbase and a body nearly 5 meters long, its WLTC fuel consumption per 100 km in depleted state is only 5.9 liters, and comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 km is only 0.71 liters.

The all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD's pure electric range reaches the industry's largest 240 kilometers, while comprehensive range reaches 1,500 kilometers. Moreover, the battery equipped in the all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD supports the fastest charging in its class — within 17.5 minutes, it can complete a 20%–80% charge, adding 144 kilometers of range, and the power battery has undergone long-term, various rigorous reliability tests over 100,000 kilometers.

If it were only "economical," it could not be called "Gold Extended-Range": the all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD's total system power reaches 345 kW, peak torque reaches 634 N·m, wheel-end output torque can reach 7,400 N·m, and 0–100 km/h acceleration takes only 4.8 seconds... It also runs with plenty of punch and excitement.



Even Stronger Overall Strength


Not only that, the all-new Exeed ET Extended-Range AWD is also equipped with "Snow Leopard AWD" and "Falcon Intelligent Driving." The "Snow Leopard AWD" system can achieve 0–100% intelligent torque distribution between the front and rear axles, and is equipped with intelligent crawl, hill descent control, and other systems, not only allowing the "Gold Extended-Range" to unleash its passion with a more stable and solid driving experience, but also providing stronger escape capability on unpaved roads.

"Falcon Intelligent Driving" is expected to obtain end-to-end mapless intelligent driving functionality covering the whole country in the first quarter of this year.
